Trilogy’s Gemini intercom matrix is a flexible, real-time intercom system that features comprehensive integrated IP capabilities together with interfaces to 4-wire circuits, telephony, AES/MADI, IP panels and SIP for analog or IP based solutions. Gemini supports a range of panels including desktop and rack mount lever key panels, touchscreen button panels, and Virtual panels for smartphones and tablets. Unique in the field of intercom hardware, the Gemini unit features a touchscreen control and color display that allows direct access to the built-in engineering interface. This ‘panel’ can be used to set up network and other system parameters, and provides an easily means of verifying hardware and software status, panel connections, and GPI activity. A headset connector also allows engineers real time access for monitoring, while the digital display can be used to view levels.
Supplied in either deskmount or rackmount panels, each Gemini frame offers up to 32 local ports for panels, telephone and analogue and digital audio interfaces. These 32 ports are complimented by a further 64 channels delivered over IP. A camera mix port supports up to 12 channels of camera intercom connectivity that leaves standard audio ports free for other uses. Once installed, the system can then be extended by connecting multiple Gemini frames using a HSL (High Speed Link) backbone, providing efficient and simple scaling as your communications needs grow. This HSL backbone acts as a dual redundant ring adding interconnection over fibre or copper in addition to the standard IP LAN/WAN connection.
For further system expansion, multiple Gemini ‘rings’ may be interconnected over any IP network. These rings provide full functionality to every node, and continue to scale – there is no practical limit to the overall system size. IP connectivity between matrices can be configured from an array of coding profiles based on industry standard CODECs to optimise quality, latency and bandwidth usage. The Gemini system is also designed to have an additional layer of redundancy where voice traffic can be diverted onto the IP network in the unlikely event the HSL link is broken in multiple places.
The Engineering panel provides instant access to core functions, offering alternative options for managing each Mercury unit and allowing for instant troubleshooting when connectivity may be a problem.
